classroom study and review for applicants preparing to take the licensing
exams required by the State of In 1981, George Dale, Commissioner of Insurance, and the Mississippi Department of Insurance adopted pre-license educational requirements for improving the competency of applicants for a privilege license to act as an insurance producer within the State. The educational requirements are spelled out in Regulation 83-17-251. All individuals to engage in the business of insurance as a producer of Property and Casualty are required to complete a minimum of 24 hours of insurance education. For Life, Accident, and Health, a minimum of 24 hours is required prior to taking the producers examination. In addition to the above requirements a producer must have a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education to maintain his/her Life, Health, and Accident License or Property and Casualty License. The curriculum of Insurance training Specialists, Inc., complies with all state requirements. The courses provide applicants with the basic knowledge of the broad principles of insurance, licensing, and regulations of the State as well as the duties and obligations of an insurance producer.
